About LibreWolf
LibreWolf is a community project that takes Firefox and changes its defaults for privacy, security and user freedom. It removes telemetry and sponsored content, ships with uBlock Origin installed, enables strict tracking protection, clears cookies and history on close by default, and turns on stronger anti-fingerprinting settings. DRM playback is disabled until you enable it, which means some streaming sites will not work out of the box. Because it sticks closely to Firefox, it supports Firefox extensions and follows Firefox releases, though updates can arrive a little later and some platforms do not update automatically. The hardened defaults can break logins or sites until you adjust settings, which suits people who are comfortable tweaking. It is free and open source, and available for Windows, macOS, Linux distributions and OpenBSD, with no official mobile app. It suits privacy-conscious users who want Firefox without having to harden it themselves.
Best for: Privacy-conscious users who want a pre-hardened Firefox.
