About ChatGPT Atlas

ChatGPT Atlas is OpenAI's web browser, built on Chromium with ChatGPT at its centre. A ChatGPT sidebar can read the page you are on to answer questions or rewrite text, the new tab page doubles as a ChatGPT prompt, and optional browser memories let ChatGPT recall context from sites you visit. Agent mode lets ChatGPT click through websites to complete tasks such as research or shopping; at launch that mode was limited to paying ChatGPT subscribers. You sign in with a ChatGPT account, and the browser imports bookmarks and passwords from others. Privacy controls let you turn memories off per site or use incognito windows, but the design inherently sends browsing context to OpenAI when you use its features. Atlas launched on macOS in October 2025, with OpenAI saying Windows and mobile versions would follow. The browser is free to download. It suits heavy ChatGPT users who want it available on every page.
