About Orb

Orb is billing infrastructure for software companies that charge by usage, credits or a mix of seats and consumption. Products send raw usage events through an API or S3/GCS files, and Orb applies SQL-defined billable metrics, price plans, prepaid credits and commitments to produce invoices. Because events are stored raw, teams can backdate pricing changes or simulate a new price on real customer data before rolling it out. It includes invoicing, spend alerts, A/R aging and tax integrations, and connects to Stripe or Adyen for payments; the Enterprise tier adds NetSuite, Salesforce, revenue recognition reports and divisional billing. Orb is aimed at AI, cloud infrastructure and API companies with complex pricing rather than simple subscription businesses. Pricing is credit-based and scales with billing volume, with a self-serve Business plan and custom Enterprise contracts. It is a hosted service only.

Best for: AI, API and infrastructure companies with usage-based or hybrid pricing.
