About RevenueCat

RevenueCat takes the pain out of in-app purchases for mobile apps. Its open-source SDKs for iOS, Android, React Native, Flutter, Unity, Kotlin Multiplatform, Capacitor and the web wrap Apple's StoreKit and Google Play Billing, validate receipts on RevenueCat's servers and keep one source of truth for which users are entitled to what, across platforms. On top of that backend it adds a remotely configurable paywall editor, A/B tests on prices and paywalls, web-to-app purchase funnels with its own web billing or Stripe, a dashboard with subscription metrics such as MRR, churn and LTV, a customer centre for in-app support, and integrations that send purchase events to analytics, attribution and marketing tools. It is used by indie developers and by very large apps alike. Pricing is based on monthly tracked revenue: it is free up to a threshold and then takes a percentage of tracked revenue, with custom enterprise contracts for high-volume apps. The trade-off is a revenue-share fee and reliance on a third-party service for entitlements.

Best for: Mobile app teams that want subscriptions, paywalls and revenue metrics without building a billing backend.

Pros and cons

What works

  • Open-source SDKs for native, cross-platform and web apps
  • Free until your app earns real revenue
  • Paywall editor and A/B tests change offers without app releases
  • Large integration list for analytics and attribution tools

Why people leave

  • Percentage-of-revenue fee grows with your app's success
  • Free threshold is lower than Adapty's or Qonversion's
  • Entitlement checks depend on a third-party service being up
