About Payoneer
Payoneer is a cross-border payments platform used by freelancers, agencies and marketplace sellers to get paid by clients and platforms in other countries. Users get local receiving account details in several currencies, so a client in the US or EU can pay by local bank transfer, and marketplaces such as Upwork and Amazon can pay out directly. Balances can be held in multiple currencies, converted, sent to other Payoneer users, spent with a Payoneer card or withdrawn to a local bank. It has grown into a fuller business suite with payment requests, checkout, mass payouts, VAT payments, corporate cards and working capital. There is no monthly subscription; Payoneer earns from fees on receiving, converting and withdrawing, and an annual fee applies to low-activity accounts. It works in most countries, which is its main draw for freelancers in places where Wise or US banks are hard to access. Fees vary widely by route, so costs are worth checking before switching.
Best for: Freelancers and marketplace sellers outside the US who get paid by foreign clients and platforms.
