About Poe
Poe, from Quora, is a single app for talking to many AI models from different companies, including the main OpenAI, Anthropic and Google models, open-source models and image, video and audio generators. Instead of paying for several subscriptions you buy one plan that gives a monthly pool of compute points, and each message costs points depending on the model. On top of that sits a large catalogue of bots created by users and developers, from prompt-based bots to server bots, Python script bots and interactive Canvas apps, and creators can earn money when people use them. Poe also offers an OpenAI-compatible API that draws on the same subscription points. The points system takes some getting used to, since expensive models drain an allowance quickly, and power users of one model are usually better off with that vendor's own app. There is a free tier with daily points. It runs on the web, Windows, macOS, iOS and Android.
Best for: People who want to try many AI models without paying for several subscriptions.
