About PortProton

PortProton is a Linux project that wraps Valve's Proton and Proton GE builds of Wine into a single launcher aimed at both newcomers and tinkerers. It bundles scripts, a Steam Runtime container, MangoHud for on-screen performance stats and vkBasalt for post-processing, plus many preconfigured performance tweaks, so most games start without manual Wine setup. An auto-install tab sets up popular Windows launchers such as Battle.net, Epic Games, EA, Ubisoft Connect and Rockstar in one click, and an emulators tab installs PPSSPP, Cemu, MAME and others. It is developed by the Russian Linux-Gaming.ru community, which also runs a database of game compatibility reports, and is available as packages for several distributions and on Flathub. It is free and MIT-licensed. Much of its community, documentation and forum is in Russian, which can be a hurdle for English speakers.

Best for: Linux gamers who want Windows games and launchers running with minimal Wine setup.
