About ProtonPlus
ProtonPlus is a Linux app for installing and updating compatibility tools, meaning Proton forks, Wine builds, DXVK and VKD3D, across the game launchers on your system. It recognises Steam (including the Flatpak and Snap versions), Lutris, Heroic, Bottles, Faugus Launcher and WineZGUI, and lets you choose from builds such as GE-Proton, Proton-CachyOS and Wine-Staging. Recent versions go further than a plain downloader: they can update tools in the background on a schedule, pick x86-64 or ARM64 builds to suit your CPU, set per-game launch options and compatibility tools for Steam games, and edit MangoHud overlay settings. The GTK4 interface can be driven entirely with a gamepad, which suits the Steam Deck and other handhelds, and there is a command-line mode too. It's free and open source under the GPLv3, distributed on Flathub, with community packages for several distributions.
Best for: Linux gamers who use several launchers and want their Proton and Wine builds kept current.
