About Ryte
Ryte is a website quality platform from Munich that started in 2012 as an SEO tool and later repositioned around what it calls Website User Experience. It crawls a site to find technical SEO problems, broken pages and slow templates, then monitors the site over time and alerts you when something breaks. Beyond SEO it covers web performance, accessibility checks, compliance issues such as cookie and privacy problems, and a carbon calculator for page weight. It also offers keyword monitoring and content optimisation suggestions. Ryte is aimed at agencies, ecommerce teams, publishers and larger brands rather than solo site owners, and plans are sold through demos and quotes rather than a self-serve price list. In July 2024 Ryte announced that Semrush Holdings had acquired it, and its site has seen few updates since. It still suits teams in German-speaking markets that want a combined technical SEO and site-quality monitor, but buyers should ask about the product's future under Semrush.
Best for: Agencies and brands that want technical SEO, accessibility and site monitoring in one enterprise tool.
Pros and cons
What works
- Combines technical SEO, performance, accessibility and compliance checks
- Ongoing monitoring with alerts, not only one-off audits
- Strong presence and German-language support in DACH markets
Why people leave
- No public price list; plans are sold through demos
- Now owned by Semrush, so its long-term roadmap is unclear
- Pricing page no longer loads and the site footer still reads 2024
