About Sapling

Sapling is a grammar and writing assistant built by former AI researchers from academia and big tech, aimed largely at support, sales and other customer-facing teams. Its extension checks grammar and style in browsers, Google Docs, Outlook and Word, and adds autocomplete, snippets and an AI-text detector. What sets it apart is the developer side: a usage-based API for grammar checking, autocomplete, paraphrasing and AI detection that companies embed in their own products, and an enterprise tier that can be self-hosted for data-sensitive organisations. Individuals get a free plan with checks on shorter texts and a free month of Pro, which raises the length limit and adds advanced suggestions. Enterprise is priced per seat with a minimum team size. For a single writer Sapling is a perfectly decent checker, but its strengths show most when a team wants shared snippets, analytics and control over where text is processed.

Best for: Support and sales teams, and developers who want grammar checks inside their own product.
