About Siteimprove
Siteimprove is a long-running Danish software company whose platform, now branded Siteimprove.ai, scans large websites for accessibility problems, broken content, SEO issues and brand-governance slips. Its accessibility side is the best known: it checks pages, PDFs and apps against WCAG and laws such as the ADA, Section 508 and the European Accessibility Act, and is aimed at organisations that must prove compliance. On top of that sit search tools that run technical SEO audits and track how often a brand is mentioned or cited by answer engines such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, plus web analytics and content-strategy features built partly on its 2024 acquisition of MarketMuse. Customers are mostly governments, universities, hospitals, banks and big retailers with thousands of pages and many editors. There is no self-serve plan or public price list: access is sold as annual contracts after a demo. It is a web-based service, with a browser extension for page-level accessibility checks.
Best for: Large organisations that need ongoing accessibility compliance and SEO governance across big websites..
Pros and cons
What works
- Covers accessibility, SEO, analytics and content QA in one platform
- Checks against WCAG, ADA, Section 508 and the European Accessibility Act
- Tracks brand mentions and citations in AI answer engines
- ISO/IEC 27001 certified, which helps with public-sector buying
Why people leave
- No public pricing or self-serve plan; sales demo required
- Built for enterprises, so it is far too much for a small site
