About SponsorBlock
SponsorBlock tackles the ads that regular blockers can't touch: sponsor reads built into YouTube videos themselves. Users mark where sponsor segments start and end, and the extension automatically skips segments others have submitted, using a privacy-preserving query system so the server doesn't learn which video you're watching. Beyond sponsors, it can skip intros, outros, self-promotion and subscription reminders, and jump straight to a video's highlight. Segments are voted on to keep quality up. The extension is free and open source, the whole segment database can be downloaded by anyone, and there is a public API used by many third-party apps and ports, including some mobile YouTube clients. It is built and maintained by Ajay Ramachandran with community contributors. Coverage depends on contributors, so smaller channels and brand-new uploads often have no segments yet.
Best for: Heavy YouTube viewers tired of in-video sponsor reads and filler.
