About Stocktwits

Stocktwits is a social network built around tickers. Every stock, ETF and crypto coin has its own stream of short posts, and users tag messages with $cashtags and mark them bullish or bearish, which the site rolls up into sentiment and message-volume scores. Alongside the feed you get a watchlist, trending tickers, news, an earnings calendar and charts, on the web and in free iPhone and Android apps, with a Cryptotwits view for coins. Using it is free. Paid tiers remove ads (Ad Free) or add historical sentiment data, advanced search and long posts (Edge), and businesses can license the data through an Enterprise API. It suits active traders who want a fast read on what other retail investors are talking about; the quality of posts varies a lot, and it is chatter rather than research. Stocktwits itself states it is not a broker or adviser, so trades happen elsewhere.

Best for: Active retail traders who want real-time chatter and sentiment for the tickers they follow.
