About TablePro

TablePro is a database GUI built natively for Apple platforms rather than on Electron or Java. The Mac app connects to dozens of engines, including PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, SQLite, MongoDB and Redis, with a SQL editor that autocompletes from your schema, saved queries, staged row edits you review before saving, imports and exports in common formats, and SSH or TLS connections. Per-connection safe modes ask before writes or block them entirely. An optional AI assistant works with the provider you choose, including local models, and a built-in MCP server lets coding agents query saved connections read-only by default. It can import connections from TablePlus, DBeaver, DataGrip and others. The Mac app is free and AGPL-licensed; paid Starter and Team plans add schema compare, iCloud sync and shared team libraries. A separate free iPhone and iPad app covers a smaller set of databases. There is no Windows or Linux version.

Best for: Mac developers who want a fast native, open-source alternative to TablePlus or DBeaver..

Pros and cons

What works

  • Native Mac app with broad SQL and NoSQL engine support
  • Free and open source, with paid extras rather than a trial
  • Safe modes, local AI options and a read-only-by-default MCP server

Why people leave

  • No Windows or Linux version
  • Schema compare and iCloud sync need a paid plan
  • The mobile app supports fewer databases than the Mac app
