About ToffeeShare

ToffeeShare is a free, independent peer-to-peer file sharing service based in the Netherlands. You select files in your browser or app and get a link; when the recipient opens it, the data flows directly from your device to theirs over WebRTC, encrypted end to end with DTLS. Nothing is stored on ToffeeShare's servers, so there's no file size limit, and the files stop being available as soon as you close the tab. It also has a nearby-devices mode for sending to devices on the same network. Because it relies on both sides being online at once, it is best for live handoffs rather than leaving files for someone to fetch later, and strict corporate firewalls or slow devices can reduce speeds. The service is funded by donations and asks nothing of users beyond an open tab, which makes it a good private choice for one-off transfers.

Best for: Privacy-minded people making live one-off transfers without uploading to a cloud.
