About FilePizza

FilePizza is a small open-source web app for sending files directly from your browser to someone else's. You drop a file onto the page, get a short link, and the recipient downloads straight from your browser over WebRTC, so the file is never uploaded to a server and there is no size limit beyond what your connection can handle. The catch is that your tab must stay open until the download finishes, since your device is the server. Version 2 added multi-file transfers, password protection, transfer progress and better reliability. It was created by Alex Kern and Neeraj Baid at UC Berkeley and is free, funded by donations, and you can run your own instance from the GitHub repository. FilePizza is handy for one-off transfers between two people who are both online, but not for sending something to be picked up later, and corporate firewalls can block the peer connection.

Best for: One-off transfers between two people who are online at the same time.
