About Trinka

Trinka is a writing assistant from Crimson AI built for research papers, theses and technical documents. Its checks go beyond general grammar to subject-specific style, word choice, consistency and conventions that journals expect, and it adds a paraphraser, citation checker, journal finder, plagiarism checks and an AI-content detector. It works in a cloud editor, a Microsoft Word add-in, browser extensions, a Windows app and, on its confidential tier, an offline desktop checker, with an API and on-premise deployment for institutions. A free Basic plan covers a limited number of words per month; paid plans add more AI requests, proofreading of whole files and credits for plagiarism reports. The Confidential Data plan promises no data retention or AI training, which matters for unpublished research. Trinka is useful for non-native English speakers in academia, but the credit system across features takes some working out.

Best for: Researchers and students writing papers in English, especially non-native speakers.
