About Writefull

Writefull is AI language feedback for research writing, built by a team of linguists and AI researchers and now part of Digital Science. Its models are trained on millions of journal articles, so suggestions follow academic conventions rather than general business style. It works where many researchers already write: a Word add-in and an Overleaf integration that checks LaTeX directly, plus widgets for paraphrasing, generating titles and abstracts, explaining text and detecting AI-written passages. Writefull Revise is a separate editor for checking whole documents, and publishers and institutions can license it or use its API for manuscript screening. There is free usage with limits and a paid Premium plan for individuals. The company says texts are sent over an encrypted connection and not stored or used for training. It is narrower than Grammarly, but for anyone writing papers in LaTeX it fits more naturally.

Best for: Researchers writing papers in Overleaf or Word who want academic-style language checks.
