About Zoo Design Studio
Zoo Design Studio comes from Zoo (formerly KittyCAD), a company building a new CAD stack from scratch, including its own geometry engine. Every model is backed by KCL, a code-based CAD language, so you can switch between point-and-click modeling and editing the code directly, and keep designs in version control. Its Zookeeper agent lets you describe a part in plain language, such as an engine valve with given dimensions, and generates or edits the model, drawing on research and manufacturing-aware feedback. It suits engineers and developers curious about programmatic and AI-assisted CAD, but it is young software and lacks the breadth, assemblies and drawing tools of established CAD packages. The desktop app is free to download, paid plans add more usage of the AI features, and the app is open source under the MIT licence. It runs on macOS, Windows and Linux, with a browser test build.
