About 5KPlayer

5KPlayer, from DearMob, combines a media player, a streaming tool and a video downloader. It plays 4K and 5K video, common formats and DVDs with hardware acceleration, can receive and send AirPlay streams (including mirroring an iPhone screen to a computer) and works as a DLNA media server and renderer. A built-in downloader grabs videos from YouTube and other sites. It is free on Windows and macOS. The flip side is that the free app promotes the developer's paid software, the interface feels a little dated, and it is closed source, so privacy-minded users may prefer open-source players. It suits people who want AirPlay mirroring and simple downloads alongside playback in one free app.

Best for: People who want free playback plus AirPlay mirroring and DLNA in one app.
