About IINA

IINA is a modern video player designed specifically for the Mac. It uses mpv for playback, so it handles nearly any format and gets mpv's quality output, but wraps it in an interface that behaves like a Mac app: trackpad gestures, media keys, Picture in Picture, Live Text, a Touch Bar on older models and a dark mode that matches the system. Sidebars give quick access to playlists, chapters, subtitle and audio tracks, and you can download subtitles online. A plugin system lets the community add subtitle sources, tools and interface changes. IINA is free, open source under the GPLv3, and states that it has no tracking or telemetry. It runs on macOS only, with recent versions requiring a fairly recent macOS release. It suits Mac users who want something nicer than QuickTime and VLC without paying.
