About Aikido Security

Aikido Security is a Belgian application security platform that rolls many scanners into one dashboard: dependency scanning (SCA), malware detection in packages, SAST, secrets detection, license and SBOM checks, infrastructure-as-code, container image and Kubernetes scanning, and cloud posture management. It also sells DAST, API scanning, AI-driven penetration tests and an in-app runtime firewall. The pitch is less noise: findings are de-duplicated and auto-triaged so developers see fewer false positives, with AI AutoFix pull requests on paid plans and integrations with Git hosts, CI/CD, IDEs, Slack, Jira and compliance tools such as Vanta and Drata. Several parts are open source, including the Opengrep analysis engine and the Zen runtime firewall. There is a free-forever Developer plan for two users with limited features; paid tiers add more users, AutoFix, on-prem scanning and enterprise support, and some pentest and AI features are quoted separately. It is used through the web app, with an optional local scanner for teams that keep code off external servers.

Best for: Startups and mid-size teams that want one affordable AppSec tool instead of five scanners.

Pros and cons

What works

  • One dashboard for SCA, SAST, secrets, IaC, containers and cloud
  • Free-forever plan for up to two users
  • Auto-triage cuts false positives before they reach developers
  • On-prem scanning option keeps source code local

Why people leave

  • Free plan leaves out AutoFix, AutoTriage and code quality checks
  • Breadth means individual scanners may be shallower than specialist tools
  • Pentests and AI SAST are credit-based or quoted separately
