About AionUi
AionUi is a desktop front end for command-line AI agents. Instead of juggling terminal windows, you install agents such as Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, Qwen Code, goose or OpenCode, and AionUi detects them and gives each a chat window with file previews, so you can run several sessions side by side. It also ships a built-in agent that works with API keys from many model providers. Extras include scheduled tasks that rerun prompts on a timer, a shared MCP tool list synced to supported agents, a team mode in which one agent hands work to others, and a browser-based WebUI for reaching your desktop sessions from a phone. Bots can relay agents to Telegram, Lark and DingTalk. It suits developers and power users who already rely on CLI agents and want a graphical home for them. The app is free under Apache 2.0; you pay only the model provider or agent subscriptions you connect. It runs on Windows, macOS and Linux and keeps data locally.
Best for: Developers who use several CLI coding agents and want one graphical app to run and schedule them.
Pros and cons
What works
- Works with many existing CLI agents rather than locking you into one
- Scheduled tasks and parallel sessions for long-running agent work
- Browser WebUI and chat-app bots for checking on agents remotely
- Free and open source under Apache 2.0, with data kept locally
Why people leave
- Most power comes from separately installed agents, each with its own setup and costs
- Feature-heavy interface with a learning curve
- Much of the documentation lives on GitHub rather than a dedicated docs site
