About Aqua Data Studio
Aqua Data Studio is a long-established commercial database IDE, originally from AquaFold and now part of Idera. It supports more than 40 data platforms, from Oracle, SQL Server, Db2, Sybase and Teradata to PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Snowflake and Redshift, which makes it popular in large organisations with mixed estates. Besides a query analyser with autocomplete and execution plans, it includes visual editing of tables and data, schema and data compare, an entity-relationship modeller, import and export, a script automation engine and built-in visual analytics for charts and dashboards, plus AI assistance in recent versions. It runs on Windows, macOS and Linux. Licences are commercial, with a free trial and quotes or online orders; prices are aimed at business buyers rather than individuals. The interface is dense and Java-based, and smaller teams may find it more than they need, but its breadth across legacy and modern databases is hard to match.
Best for: Enterprises with many legacy and modern database platforms to support.
