About RazorSQL
RazorSQL is a commercial SQL client from Richardson Software that has been around since the mid-2000s. It connects through JDBC or ODBC and has been tested with over 40 databases, from mainstream ones like PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle and SQLite to less common systems such as Informix, Teradata, Vertica, kdb+, Cassandra, DynamoDB and DuckDB. It combines a database browser for schemas, tables, keys, views and procedures, a SQL editor with syntax highlighting for many languages, query builders, import and export tools, table comparison and editing, and a built-in HSQLDB database. It runs on Windows, macOS, Linux and Solaris. RazorSQL is sold as a perpetual licence per user with a period of updates, and offers a free trial. The Java interface looks old-fashioned and the SQL editing is less sophisticated than modern IDEs, but its broad support for obscure databases makes it a practical tool to keep around.
Best for: People who need to query unusual or legacy databases from one inexpensive tool.
