About Bespoke Synth

Bespoke Synth is a software modular synthesizer that also works as a loose, patch-based DAW. Instead of a timeline and mixer, you place modules on a canvas (oscillators, sequencers, samplers, effects, MIDI tools, VST plugin hosts) and wire them together, much like a hardware modular rig. The layout is built for jamming and live exploration rather than arranging a finished song track by track. It ships with more than 190 modules, can host VST plugins, takes MIDI controllers, and includes Python live-coding for scripting patterns and behaviour. It started as one developer's personal project in 2011 and is now open source under GPLv3. Every copy is identical and free to use forever; the optional paid tiers are donations, with the money going to the NAACP Legal Defense Fund. Builds are available for macOS, Windows and Linux. People used to conventional DAWs should expect a learning curve and fewer tools for mixing and arranging.

Best for: Musicians who like modular patching and live jamming more than timeline-based song arranging..
