About Excire Foto

Excire Foto is a photo management application for Windows and Mac from the German company Excire, which also makes an AI search plugin for Lightroom Classic. It uses AI models that run entirely on your computer to tag images automatically, find faces, detect duplicates, rate aesthetic quality and let you search by content or with a sample image, so photographers can find shots in large archives without keyword work. Libraries stay on your drives, and photos can be shared through Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive and Nextcloud. It is sold as a one-time licence covering Mac and Windows, with a free trial, and new yearly versions are paid upgrades. It has no phone backup or cloud sync of its own, and its editing tools are minimal, so it works best alongside an editor and a backup plan.

Best for: Photographers who want AI search over a local archive without a subscription.
