About Quick Share
Quick Share is Google's equivalent of AirDrop, built into Android phones and tablets running Android 6 or later and into Chromebooks, with a free app that adds it to select Windows PCs. It merged Google's Nearby Share with Samsung's own Quick Share, so it is the default sharing option across most Android devices. You choose who can see your device, from contacts only to everyone, pick a nearby device in the share sheet, and the transfer runs over Bluetooth and Wi-Fi without using mobile data. If the other device doesn't show up, you can display a QR code for them to scan. Google has also added AirDrop support, so supported Android devices can exchange files with nearby iPhones. It is free. Like AirDrop, it is designed for people in the same room, so it can't send to someone remote, and Windows support depends on your PC's hardware.
Best for: Android and Chromebook users sending files to nearby phones and PCs.
