About Flutterwave
Flutterwave is a payments company built around African markets. Businesses use it to take online and in-person payments through a hosted checkout, payment links, invoices, POS devices or its developer API, and to send single or bulk payouts to bank accounts and mobile money wallets. It supports local methods that global processors often skip, such as bank transfer, USSD, M-Pesa and other mobile money, alongside Visa and Mastercard cards, and it settles in more than thirty currencies. Ready-made plugins cover Shopify, WooCommerce, WordPress and similar store builders, and small sellers can set up a basic online store without code. There is no subscription: Flutterwave charges a percentage of each transaction, with rates set per country and higher fees for international cards. It operates in Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, South Africa and a dozen other African countries, plus the US and UK. It suits businesses selling to African customers; merchants with no African customers will usually find Stripe or PayPal simpler.
Best for: Businesses selling to customers across Africa who need mobile money, USSD and bank transfer payments.
