About FreeAgent

FreeAgent is a UK-focused accounting app built around the needs of freelancers, contractors, sole traders, partnerships and small limited companies. Beyond invoicing, expenses, bank feeds and time tracking, it handles the filings small UK businesses dread: VAT returns, Self Assessment, payroll with RTI submissions, and for limited companies, corporation tax and final accounts. It is compatible with Making Tax Digital. A big draw is that customers of NatWest, Royal Bank of Scotland, Ulster Bank and Mettle can use it free while they keep a qualifying account, since NatWest Group owns FreeAgent. Otherwise it is a monthly subscription priced by business type, often discounted for the first months, with a 30-day trial. It runs in the browser with iOS and Android apps. It is less suited to businesses outside the UK or with inventory, multiple currencies at scale or complex structures.

Best for: UK freelancers, contractors and small limited companies that want tax filing in one place.
