About FreeConvert

FreeConvert is a web converter launched in 2018, starting with images and growing into more than 1,500 conversions across video, audio, images, documents, ebooks and archives. Besides converting, it compresses video, images and PDFs, and adds small tools for trimming and cropping video, making GIFs, resizing images and basic PDF editing, merging and signing. Files can come from your device, a URL, Dropbox, Google Drive or OneDrive, and they are deleted automatically after eight hours. Free users get 20 conversion minutes a day without an account, which covers most short jobs, with a per-file cap. Paid monthly or yearly plans give more conversion minutes, bigger files, batch conversions and no ads, and the same credits work through its developer API. Because it runs in the browser it works on any operating system. It suits casual users who convert a handful of files a day; large video projects or private documents are better handled with an offline tool.

Best for: Casual users who convert or compress a few files a day without an account.
