About Gitfox
Gitfox is a commercial Git client written in Swift with AppKit, so it behaves like a native Mac app and starts quickly. It aims to keep Git's own vocabulary instead of inventing new concepts, and covers the usual ground: diffs, blame, image diffs, line staging, interactive rebase, bisect, reflog, Git LFS, Git-flow, multiple committer identities and full-text search through history. You can connect GitHub, GitLab (including self-managed), Bitbucket and Gitea accounts to browse and clone repositories, and hand off diffs to tools such as Kaleidoscope, Beyond Compare or VS Code. The developers state that the app only connects for licence checks, updates, crash reports and anonymous usage stats, never your code. It is paid software with a full-featured 30-day trial and requires a recent macOS on Apple Silicon or Intel. It is a niche, indie product, so it suits Mac users who value native polish over cross-platform reach.
Best for: Mac developers who want a native, lightweight Git client.
