About Lemon Squeezy

Lemon Squeezy is a merchant-of-record platform for software companies and digital creators. It acts as the legal seller, so it collects and remits sales tax and VAT worldwide, handles fraud and chargebacks, and provides checkout, subscriptions, licence keys, a simple storefront, discount codes, affiliates and email marketing. There is no monthly fee for the ecommerce features; you pay a percentage plus a fixed fee per transaction, with extra fees for some international payments and payouts. Stripe acquired Lemon Squeezy in 2024, and the company has since been pointing merchants toward Stripe's own Managed Payments product, so new users should check its roadmap before committing. For indie developers who want tax compliance handled without paperwork, it remains a simple option. It runs in the browser.

Best for: Indie software makers who want global tax handled for them.
