About Saleor
Saleor is a headless commerce platform with a GraphQL API at its core, built on Python and Django. It provides products, multi-channel catalogues, checkout, orders, promotions and payments through apps and webhooks, and you build your own storefront in Next.js or any other frontend. A dashboard handles day-to-day merchandising. The core is BSD-licensed and can be self-hosted, while Saleor Cloud offers managed hosting with plans aimed at funded businesses, plus a free sandbox for development. It suits engineering teams building custom, multi-region or multi-brand experiences who want to avoid lock-in. It is not a fit for merchants without developers: there is no theme to pick and launch, and integrations often require writing apps. Cloud pricing is high for small shops.
Best for: Engineering teams building custom headless storefronts with GraphQL.
