About Mullvad Browser

Mullvad Browser is a collaboration between Mullvad VPN and the Tor Project. It is essentially Tor Browser without the Tor network: it uses the same Firefox-based code and the same protections against fingerprinting and tracking, so every user looks alike to websites, but it connects directly. The idea is to pair it with a trustworthy VPN, though it does not require Mullvad's. It ships in private browsing mode, blocks third-party tracking, includes uBlock Origin and NoScript, and clears data when closed. Because it aims for uniformity, it discourages adding extensions or changing settings, and there is no sync, history across sessions or saved logins by default, which makes it awkward as an everyday browser. It is free and open source, made by the Tor Project, and available for Windows, macOS and Linux. It suits people who want strong anti-fingerprinting at normal speeds, especially VPN users.

Best for: VPN users who want Tor-level anti-fingerprinting at normal speeds.
