About Nordstrom
Nordstrom is a Seattle-based department store chain that started as a shoe shop in 1901 and now sells clothing, shoes, accessories, beauty and home goods in stores and online. Its app and website carry everything from mainstream labels to designer brands, with services such as buy online and pick up in store, alterations and personal styling. The off-price arm, Nordstrom Rack, sells discounted and past-season stock through its own stores and site. Shopping is free, and the free Nordy Club loyalty program gives points and perks, with a Nordstrom credit card for faster earning. The company is known for customer service and fairly generous returns. It ships mainly within the US, and its stores are in the US, so shoppers elsewhere have fewer options. In 2025 it agreed to be taken private by members of the Nordstrom family and Mexican retailer El Puerto de Liverpool.
Best for: US shoppers who want mid-range to designer fashion and beauty with in-store pickup and service.
