About openstatus

openstatus is an open-source project for uptime monitoring and status pages. It checks HTTP and TCP endpoints from a wide set of regions around the world, records latency per region, and feeds the results into public status pages where you can post incidents and maintenance windows. Alerts go to Slack, Discord, email, PagerDuty, SMS and other channels, and monitors can be defined as code through a CLI and API, which appeals to developer teams. The hosted service has a free plan with a basic page and a few monitors, and paid tiers that add more monitors, faster checks, team members and custom domains; the paid Starter plan can be trialled. Because the code is published under the AGPL, you can self-host it, though the hosted version is the main way most people use it. It is newer and smaller than Statuspage or Better Stack, so integrations are fewer.

Best for: Developer teams that want open-source status pages and multi-region uptime checks.

  • Checks from many regions with per-region latency
