About KDE Connect

KDE Connect connects your phone and computers over the local network so they work together. File sharing is one part of it: send photos or documents from phone to PC and back, or browse the phone's files remotely from your desktop. It also syncs notifications so you can read and reply to messages from your computer, shares the clipboard, lets the phone act as a remote control or touchpad, shows the phone's battery level, and can run predefined commands on the computer. It is built by the KDE community, free and open-source, and works on any Linux desktop, with GSConnect providing the same protocol for GNOME users. There are apps for Android (Google Play, F-Droid and Huawei AppGallery), Windows, macOS and iOS, though the iOS version is more limited because of Apple's restrictions. Devices must be on the same network, and the setup is fiddlier than single-purpose senders.

Best for: Linux and Android users who want their phone and computer tightly linked.
