About Reflex

Reflex is an open-source framework for writing complete web applications, front end and back end, in Python. Components, layout, styling and state are all defined in Python and compiled to a React front end with a FastAPI-style backend, so Python developers can build dashboards, admin tools and customer-facing apps without learning JavaScript. Unlike Streamlit's rerun model, Reflex uses explicit state classes and event handlers, which makes larger multi-page apps easier to structure. The company also offers an AI builder that generates Reflex apps from prompts and Reflex Cloud for hosting, with managed databases, authentication and team features, and pitches the platform for internal software. The framework itself is Apache-licensed and can be self-hosted anywhere. Cloud pricing has a free tier for a single public app, a Pro plan with a monthly usage allowance, and larger team and enterprise options. It is younger than Streamlit, with a smaller component ecosystem, and still needs real programming skills.

Best for: Python developers who want full web apps and internal tools without writing JavaScript.
