About Streamlit

Streamlit lets data scientists and analysts build interactive web apps in plain Python. You write a script that loads data and calls functions for charts, tables, sliders, file uploads, chat interfaces and other widgets, and Streamlit renders it as a web page that reruns whenever a user changes an input, so there is no front-end code to write. It has become a standard way to share models, internal dashboards, data-exploration tools and LLM chat prototypes inside companies, with a large gallery of community components. The library is Apache-licensed and free, and apps can run anywhere Python runs. Streamlit, owned by Snowflake, offers free hosting for public apps on Community Cloud and a professional route through Snowflake for private apps with Git, CI/CD and enterprise security. It is excellent for data-centric tools, but the rerun model makes complex multi-page applications, fine-grained layouts and heavy user management awkward, and it is not designed for CRUD-heavy admin panels.

Best for: Data teams building internal dashboards and data apps in pure Python.
