About SQLyog
SQLyog is a long-running MySQL and MariaDB management tool for Windows, now sold by Idera under its Webyog brand. It targets developers and DBAs who spend their day in MySQL. Beyond a query editor with autocomplete and formatting and a data grid for editing, it offers visual schema and data comparison with synchronisation scripts, scheduled backups and imports, a query profiler and explain views, a visual query builder, schema designer, and SSH and HTTP tunnelling for reaching servers behind firewalls. The company positions it alongside its Monyog monitoring product. SQLyog Ultimate is a paid licence with a free trial; the old free Community edition is no longer the main offering. It only runs natively on Windows and only supports MySQL-compatible databases, and its interface and release cadence feel older than newer cross-platform tools, but its sync and backup automation still save time for MySQL teams on Windows.
Best for: Windows-based MySQL and MariaDB teams that need schema sync and scheduled backups.
