About StatusCake

StatusCake is a hosted monitoring service from the UK that covers the main checks a website owner needs. Uptime tests run over HTTP, TCP, DNS, SMTP, SSH and ping from locations worldwide, with confirmation from multiple servers before alerting to reduce false alarms. It also tracks page load speed, SSL certificate validity and expiry, domain expiry, and server resource usage through a lightweight agent, and offers public status pages. Alerts go to email, SMS, Slack, Teams, PagerDuty and other channels. It is popular with agencies and small businesses managing many sites, partly because its free plan has long been usable for small needs. It is not a developer-focused synthetic or observability platform, so scripted browser flows and backend tracing are outside its scope. Paid plans add more tests, shorter intervals and features, with a free trial of any plan; the free plan has a five-minute interval. It is a hosted web service.

Best for: Agencies and small businesses monitoring many websites for uptime, speed and SSL.
