Supermaven has been discontinued. Sunset on 21 November 2025 after Cursor's acquisition; existing JetBrains and Neovim users keep free autocomplete.
About Supermaven
Supermaven was an AI autocomplete tool known for very fast suggestions and a context window of up to one million tokens, available as extensions for VS Code, JetBrains IDEs and Neovim. It was founded by Jacob Jackson, who had earlier created Tabnine, and offered a free tier with paid Pro and Team plans. Cursor's parent company acquired it in November 2024 and folded its technology into Cursor Tab. On 21 November 2025 Supermaven announced it was being sunset: subscribers were refunded, agent chat was removed, and VS Code users were advised to move to Cursor. Existing Neovim and JetBrains customers were promised free autocomplete for the foreseeable future, but there is no new development. Listed here because people still search for it. If you used it for fast completions, Cursor is the direct successor, while GitHub Copilot or Tabnine cover the same ground in other editors.
Best for: Existing Neovim and JetBrains users who still have free autocomplete access.
