About TeamCity
TeamCity is the continuous integration server from JetBrains, the company behind IntelliJ IDEA. It is available as a self-hosted server and as TeamCity Cloud. Builds are organised into projects and build configurations that can be chained into pipelines with shared artifacts and dependencies, and configuration can be done in the web UI or as code with a Kotlin DSL. It has strong support for Java, .NET and other JetBrains-adjacent ecosystems, test history and flaky test detection, build failure investigation, and integrations with JetBrains IDEs, so developers can run personal builds before committing. The free Professional tier of the self-hosted server needs no licence key and includes three build agents and up to a hundred build configurations; Enterprise licences remove those limits, and open-source projects can get a free licence with unlimited agents. The server runs on Linux, Windows and macOS, with agents on all three.
Best for: Java and .NET teams wanting a polished self-hosted CI server with build chains.
