About WazirX

WazirX is a Mumbai-based cryptocurrency exchange for Indian users. You deposit rupees by bank transfer after KYC with PAN and Aadhaar, then buy and sell more than 300 listed coins through a quick-buy screen or a full spot order book with limit and stop-limit orders. It also offers INR-settled perpetual futures with high leverage, API trading and a referral program. Trading fees are charged per trade, or you can pay a small monthly fee for WazirX ZERO, which removes spot trading fees. WazirX is registered with India's Financial Intelligence Unit and says customer assets are held with the custodian BitGo. In July 2024 it lost a large share of user funds in a hack, and withdrawals were frozen while a restructuring went through the Singapore courts before trading resumed in 2025. It runs on the web, iOS and Android.
