About Amazon Connect

Amazon Connect is AWS's cloud contact center service, now marketed as Amazon Connect Customer. Agents handle voice calls, web chat, email, SMS and third-party messaging from one browser-based workspace, while administrators build routing and self-service flows in a drag-and-drop designer. It includes AI agents for self-service, real-time agent assist, post-contact summaries, conversational analytics, forecasting and agent scheduling, performance evaluations and screen recording. Because it runs on AWS, it connects directly to Lambda, Lex, S3 and other AWS services, which suits companies with in-house engineers who want to customise their contact center in code. There are no seats: you pay per minute of voice, per chat or SMS message and per email, plus phone number and telephony charges, with no minimum commitment or long-term contract. That model helps seasonal or fast-growing teams, but monthly bills are harder to predict than per-agent pricing and setup usually needs AWS skills or a partner. Everything runs in the AWS console and the agent web app.

Best for: Companies on AWS with engineering help that want usage-based contact center pricing instead of seats.
