About AppVeyor
AppVeyor is a hosted continuous integration and deployment service that made its name as the first good CI option for Windows and .NET projects, and it still offers some of the broadest Windows build images with many Visual Studio versions preinstalled. It also builds on Linux and macOS images, can deploy to environments such as Azure, IIS, NuGet and GitHub Releases, and supports build caching and artifacts. Configuration lives in an appveyor.yml file or in the web UI. A self-hosted edition, AppVeyor Server, lets you run the same system on your own machines, and hosted plans can attach self-hosted build jobs. It is a small company and the product evolves slowly, so teams starting fresh often choose GitHub Actions instead, but it remains common in open-source .NET and C++ projects. Public projects build free; private plans are priced per month by concurrent jobs, with a 14-day trial.
Best for: Windows and .NET projects, especially open-source ones, that need rich Windows build images.
