About Bamboo
Bamboo is Atlassian's continuous integration and delivery server, now sold only as Bamboo Data Center for self-managed deployment. Plans are made of stages and jobs that run on local or remote agents, with deployment projects that track which release went to which environment, and specs can be written in Java or YAML. Its main draw is integration with Jira and Bitbucket: builds and deployments appear on Jira issues and Bitbucket pull requests, and plan branches follow Bitbucket branches automatically. High availability and disaster recovery features target regulated enterprises. Atlassian never released a cloud version and is moving customers to cloud products, and its site says Data Center support ends on March 28, 2029, so new adopters should weigh that carefully; many teams are migrating to Bitbucket Pipelines or other CI tools. Licensing is an annual term subscription by job count, with a free trial. It runs on Linux and Windows servers.
Best for: Existing Atlassian Data Center customers who need CI tied to Jira and Bitbucket.
