About CapRover

CapRover is a free, open-source platform-as-a-service you install on your own server with Docker. It provides a web dashboard and CLI for deploying apps from Git, a Dockerfile, a tarball or an image, and handles nginx load balancing, Let's Encrypt certificates and environment variables. A library of one-click apps installs databases and popular self-hosted tools such as WordPress, MongoDB, Postgres and Redis. Because it is built on Docker Swarm, you can add more servers to form a cluster and scale apps across them, which goes a step beyond single-server tools like Dokku. There are no paid tiers or feature gates. CapRover is mature and stable, but its interface is plainer and development moves more slowly than newer projects such as Coolify and Dokploy, and you remain responsible for patching and securing the underlying servers.

Best for: Developers who want a free self-hosted PaaS with a UI that can grow into a small cluster.
