About Evidence

Evidence is a code-first business intelligence tool. Reports and dashboards are Markdown files with embedded SQL queries and chart components, stored in a Git repository, so analytics gets the same review, branching and rollback workflow as software. Evidence Core, the MIT-licensed open-source framework, runs locally through a CLI and builds a static site you can host on Vercel, Netlify, Docker or your own servers without an account. Evidence Studio is the paid hosted platform on top: a cloud editor, push-to-deploy, branch previews, page-level access control, scheduled emails and an analytics agent that answers plain-language questions in the app, in Slack or over MCP. Studio is priced at a flat monthly rate with unlimited users and a 30-day trial; Enterprise adds SSO, SCIM, row-level security, embedding and self-deployment. It suits data teams comfortable with SQL and Git who want version-controlled reporting, rather than business users looking for drag-and-drop dashboards.

Best for: SQL-fluent data teams who want dashboards in Git with code review and previews.
